Honest Jason... I ain't got a clue as to what happened with the chat thing...

OK... I just now tried to log into the chat room with you and 3 others listed. I waited for well over a minute without any results. I back-spaced and when I came back to FT, there was no one listed there that were there before.

I now agree...the chat room software SUCKS big time! It used to work fine! Something must have been changed!

I'm trying to get in the chatroom lately but it's not logging in. everytime I see someone listed as online there and I try to log, it doesn't show any response after typing name and password. On the few times I got logged in, it dropped me some moments later.
Tried another browser but the same thing happened.
what's up with it?

It's definitely related to the auto log-out feature. If someone forgets to log out, the chat room will crash when the system tries to log them out automatically due to inactivity.

It's an issue with Perl switching internal character sets. Why they did that I don't know... I guess to piss everyone off.

At some point in the next decade I'll get some time to fix it. In the meantime if people would just logout, you'd be all set.

Just call Perl and tell her to stop switching them! I know she thinks it's funny, but c'mon now!

You'd think that girl would have more constructive things to do. Sheesh.

I'm on a Mac OSX version 10.3.9, using Safari 1.3 (v312) and I've never been able to get into chat. Is that what you need to know?

Adam and Co. I was just in the "new" chat room and could not see my text posted. I'm using Opera 11.00.

I have not experienced problems in the past using Opera or using the chat room.

-Steve

Just tried using Safari (running on an XP machine)...no problem there. When back to Opera 11.00 (on the same XP machine) and now there is no problem. Strange but true.

Trying Opera again...same problem...can't see any text in the window but can type it all I want.

There hasn't been anything "new" about the chat room in years ... the only recent changes were an updated logo and background colors to match the new site.

I have also had intermittently non-loading panes, but a forced refresh or log out/in usually corrects this in Firefox. One of these days, we might figure out why this happens!

Well...there should be! Loose the Crap Code flash and lets modernize it...have the title mis-converged! Some will think it is just 3D anyway!
