But another side of me wanted to see these two teams suffer another heartbreaking loss after being so close to clinching a series win because they got greedy ownerships who make obscene profits over their fans dog like loyalty.
Huh? As far as I know, the Red Sox organization has _lost_ money for the last year or two (not sure on this year). That's why they made some noise a few years ago in an attempt to get the city to build a new $500 million ballpark for them (Fenway's capacity is the lowest in the majors--about 34k, give or take a few hundred). Fortunately, the city didn't seem terribly interested. Personally, I think that the whole idea was misguided because, among other reasons, attendance would probably go down if fans didn't have to order tickets months in advance as they now do, because nearly every game sells out. Not to mention that the current ballpark (which is old and charming, unlike many newer ballparks) is part of the reason why people attend the games.

As much as I would love to see it, a World Series victory would be a Bad Thing (tm) for business over the long term, as many fans would feel that they have nothing left to hope for and dream about, and would lose interest a few years later.
