The captured images can be saved in either jpg or bmp format. The one I sent to Joe was jpg. The properties indicate they're the native resolution of the video source, usually either 1920 x 1080, or 1280 x 720. If saved as a bmp, wouldn't they be bit-for-bit replicas of the original frame? I was just being a bit of a smart ass in light of how some folks can shoot a big science fiction epic using cameras that don't capture half the pixels of a 1080 HD image yet claim it is better than 35mm. It seems some people are a little flexible on the term "hi def" rather than sticking to the native pixel layouts given for 720p and 1080i (1280 X 720 and 1920 X 1080). This accusation is really leveled quite severely at all the companies selling overpriced flat plasma screen TVs that are not HD at all.  |  IP: Logged David Stambaugh Film God Posts: 4021 From: Eugene, Oregon Registered: Jan 2002 posted 11-14-2003 10:35 PM                        If you're interested I can send you an unaltered HD cap in bmp format for your analysis. It'll be about 6MB. Plasma TVs are cool but they're a ripoff given that they don't do HD. I don't even think the picture looks all that great.  |  IP: Logged
