Now a Faily Dollar store. Also Have Vivid recolections of King Kong at the UA Ayers theatre in the early 70's as well. First show I watched without my parents was Stripes at the UA Cine 4 later the UA Cine 6, the last UA theatre in Corpus to Close and 1 I actually worked at as a projectionist for 4 years before becoming an assistant manager with UA. Thought here UA used to be the only Company in Corpus, why are they gone? I was 7 and went with my mum and gran. I also remember trying to convince my mum to buy the soundtrack from Curtis' record store which was next door.Sad isn't it. I also recall seeing a newsreel coverage of a state funeral. But I don't remember that. The first film I remember seeing was a revival of Fantasia in about 1955. I saw it in a local theater, The Dale, which was located in the west Bronx. But I think the first film that completely blew me away was the roadshow presentation of West Side Story in 70mm Todd-AO at the Rivoli in NYC.
