Last I recall, the OEM version comes with the bundled software, just no pretty cardboard box.

Clearly, if you already have the software and it supports the A06, or can be upgraded to do so, you might as well not pay more than you need to.

But WHY is cable select the root of all evil? Wouldn't it be best just to remove all the jumpers from each hard drive and/or optical drive and throw them away?

I think you may still need to use the jumpers for CS setting.
