I just finished assembling them.....every reel was HEADS UP!!!!! GO TECHNICOLOR!!!!! I still prefer to receive the reels tails out, inspect them on the rewind bench as you splice them onto 6000-foot reels, then wind them onto the platter. I was planning on watching this week. Last weekend, even the late April releases have been relegated to the tiny houses in some multiplexes thanks to this madness over Van Helsing and Troy that grossed only 65M put together but hogged more than half of some multiplexes. In fact, one Regal 24 put Troy in its SIX BIGGEST HOUSES and the barely week old VH was in the medium houses. We have another old school boy here! Geez John, get with the program and get a Goldberg platter reel. Prints come heads up, you build to the reel in order, then slide the print onto the platter. In a 30 mile stretch, there are 13 prints. Mine play 16 times per day. No wonder theatres are hurting with shrinking profits... no legs for films anymore means less money in the exhibitors pockets.. I cant stand it! Whichever way they do it, I think it should be done ONE way only. I don't like surprises. Don't you think it would be nice to know what to expect when you open the cans? How long does it normally take you to put together a print of an average 6 reel movie? I'm curious.  |  IP: Logged Steve Scott Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1300 From: Minneapolis, MN Registered: Sep 2000 posted 05-24-2004 06:27 PM                     This is just an estimate, but I'd say every show we had starting with 4:25 Friday afternoon, up to 5:25 on Sunday evening was a sellout. Three of those were in 262 seat auditoriums, one in a 450 seat house. But we had to interlock for three shows on sunday giving each of those three shows over 700 seats, which sold just under 600 of those seats (On my day off Not so cool now that I see today that we've booked four prints of Day After Tomorrow and two of Raising Helen... but we are keeping all four prints of Shrek 2.
