My mom tried to get me to eat Cream Corn. I hated that stuff. She told me the same thing about starving kids in China. I thought I would be funny and I told her, "If I tried to feed this to a chinese kid, he would kung fu kick me in the nuts!"

She wasn't as amused as I was.

Wouldn't most of the food our moms cook for us be a bit spoiled by the time we sent it there? You could freeze it, obviously, but still, just wouldn't be the same.

When people tell me that the uneaten food on my plate could feed a starving family somewhere, I typically say, "Alright. If you can give me their address, I'll send it to them."

Isn't it their fault for making more food than we can eat? I think it's just the parents' way of making us feel guilty for their making more food than necessary.
"Oh shit, I made 5 pounds of spaghetti again! I think I'll just pile up everyone's plates and blame them. Suckers."
