Joe,
you must live in a city where the power fluctuates!! I have never had a problem with the Denver power supply, but their phone support is incredible. I know this because I never have a problem, but I still call them to test their support system!!!

UPSs use a different type of battery than cell phones. UPSs use gel cells. They are somewhat like the battery in your car. You should NEVER let a gel cell discharge all the way down. That will hurt the battery. Always recharge gel cells after every use, no matter how little you use it. If it is not being used, charge it every few months. This is just the opposite of the way you treat a ni-cad. A ni-cad should be discharged almost all the way down before recharging. and should be stored in a discharged state, otherwise it may develop internal shorts, that will cause the battery to self discharge quickly from then on.
