Wish I had some pictures handy, but my son and I built a trail Jeep from the bones of three CJ-5's, including a new 360, Optima battery and warn winch, beefed up axles, 4" lift, two-stick transfer case, granny low, etc. We even replaced the body and fabricated our own roll cage. That was several years ago, but we took it to Jeep Jamborees all over the northeast and had a blast. It's still around and one of these days we're going to remove the spring over conversion, downsize the lift, and convert it back to a plowing/beach driving/boat towing mule.
