If someone I was interviewing "begged" for a job, I would put them in the file 13 and consider them a desperate loser that would take ANY job... even a "job" outside a K-Mart selling pencils! Be positive and assertive without being arrogant, threatening, or appearing as a negative person. Tell them about your experience and qualifications and biz/customer philosophy. Tell them how YOU can help them improve and meet their goals whether it be the bottom line, customer satisfaction, or whatever. LISTEN to the interviewer and tailor your responses to what they say their corporate AND PERSONAL goals are. No matter how tempted, DO NOT bad-mouth any former employers. Be honest! And if they want to know why you left prior job...tell them in a positive way that you and they did not agree on corporate goals while at the same time providing the best possible customer service. Also, make sure you "interview" THEM to make sure YOU want to work there! Oh, and don't forget the "Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing from you" when you leave. ALWAYS give a firm handshake and SMILE when you meet and when you leave. AND don't forget the "Thank You for your time and looking forward to hearing from you" follow-up letter. Never EVER "ask" for the job... Better to tell them WHY YOU are the right person for it! Don't say nasty things about former employers or coworkers. But there's almost always a way to phrase it IF you are asked. You can say, "I moved on because..." Or, if you were fired, "I was asked to move on because..." Great News!! I was offered an Assistant Manager position @ 8.00/hr!! I will be in charge by myself on Tues & Wed nights and will be with MY boss on Thurs-Sat nights, Sun & Mon I have off. I will be mainly responsible for running the two booths, and supervising the consession and box office. Considering that I have no prior management experience, this will be tough for me at the start, but I am ready for the challenge. I also will be building and tearing down movies!!!!Yaay!!!!, Since they use the EXACT same equipment up to the splicer, I won't have an issue. The only things that are different is a Strong lamphouse and RCA soundhead that I shouldn't have an issue learning. He said that he was looking for an assistant manager and I said "great". Then the interview went down and I was given a tour of the facility and told my general duties,etc. He told me to think of all my great managers and that I should be like them and I said, "I definately won't be like the manager from the other theatre, she was a little rough" That's really all I said. He seemed excited to hire me on. He said he is working 7 days right now and I can help him out alot. That part after the three dots means that you're supposed to say something about your former employer not paying you your wages due on time. e.g.: "I moved on because my former employer was too often delinquent in depositing money to his payroll account." Any business man worth his salt will know that means your paychecks bounced when you tried to cash them.
