Well, the last snowboarder did go past the warning line plainly marked with Skull and crossbones at the CAnyone Resort up in Park city a couple of weeks ago. So that might mean two things...... Snowboarders can't read at all, or they are just more daring..... That guy started the largest avalanche that ever happened in Utah and he was burried under 30 feet of snow. It was witnessed by alot of people. A week later Rescue Dogs located his body. Last year two kids were burried in an avalanche near Sundance in Provo canyon. They didn't find theor bodies till the snow melted in late spring!

Well Joe, Read this and decide if Utah snowboarders/snowshoers are'nt completely nuts! Mount Nebo is the tallest of the mouuntains on the Wasatch front at just a few feet under 12,000!! Beautiful up there though....

Avalanche Rider!

"Man Rides Avalanche Feet-First in Utah

MONA, Utah - A hiker fell about 1,000 feet down a mountain side, riding an avalanche feet-first — and suffered only minor injuries. Extremely lucky," said Juab County Sheriff Alden Orme.

Mark Thomas and two companions were hiking on a ridge near Mount Nebo on Saturday when snow gave way beneath them, they told police. His friends did not fall, but Thomas slid about 1,000 feet, triggering an avalanche, Orme said. Thomas, 21, of Salt Lake City, told police that he rode the cascading snow feet-first, and came to a stop partially buried in a canyon. His friends went for help, but while they were gone Thomas dug himself out of the snow. He set out walking out of the canyon and met rescuers on their way up the mountain. Thomas had a minor back injury and frostbitten feet, police said."

I like to go on a vacation where I attempt to snowboard or ski at least twice a year. Unfortunatly I usually end up doing part of the traveling by plane.

"The airlines" I've used have managed to lose smome of my equipment of three seperate occasions recently. Besides that, the airlines have also misrouted my gear or other luggage an additional three times.

Theres nothing quite like arriving at as destination on a holiday weekend only to discover that there aren't any stores open to be able to replace ones luggage which was misrouted or managed to disappear of the face of the planet.
