When I purchase a car or truck, I purchase the one I want, at the price I want, not the price the dealer has. Also, I purchase cars at the police seized assets auction. Yeah a new car depreciates a lot in the first month. So what. At least I get to break it in properly compared to somebody who is likely not going to handle it as well if he is the type to get rid of it so fast. I dont care about the warranty on the not so used car because some problems could crop up after the warranty. If you plan on holding it for a long time, then that depreciation amount averages out to only a little extra per year in terms of the overall usage cost. The big advantage of a used car is you can go bare minimum on the insurance. For years, I just had a 200 plus annual premium. Then again, you can go with a lighter coverage for a new car after a couple of years once it is fully paid for. Also once it's paid for, I drop collision and retained comprehensive(theft, a deer hitting your car). Richard, you were kidding about wanting us to donate, right??  |  IP: Logged
