USA (1774.21 miles northeast of Dallas) Registered: Jun 99 posted 02-15-2005 08:12 PM                        As if we needed any more proof that the record industry is completely clueless about pricing, here's an interesting find: The local Virgin Records is selling the Pink Floyd - The Wall movie on DVD for $21.99. They also have the album on CD for $34.99. This is not an isolated example, either. To get that CD in the store, we have to pay about $27.00 for it. We make a whopping $4.00 on that cd! Yes, Best Buy is going to have it cheaper but their selling alot of the CD's at what stores have to pay for them, and to make up the money they loose, they sell computers and other electronics. Still, $30.00 for 2 cd's period is WAY to much! Our little dinky store gets it for $24.49. (We sell it for $28.88) I agree that it should be cheaper. THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is still frontline priced too.
