It's just another way of saying "there aren't as many fans of this title as there are of Spider-Man." And he is right. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Might as well face it, we're going to have a down year. Big frickin' deal. Get the NATO "Encylcopedia of Exhibition" and look at the graph of the ticket sales figures. It looks like a picket fence.
