Randy Stankey Film God Posts: 6539 From: Erie, Pennsylvania Registered: Jun 99 posted 07-29-2005 02:04 AM                     Have you ruled out memory leaks and bunged-up swapfiles? Those are two problems that can slow your computer to a crawl which go away upon reboot. Don't let anybody tell you that XP doesn't get memory leaks. It still does. And, when it does, your computer just sits there and goes, "HEEEELLLLLLPP MEEEEE!" Even with XP you shouldn't be getting them that often, though. Do you have any startups that use and/or alter memory parameters? (Like a RAM disk extension?) Sorta the same question about swapfiles. You shouldn't be having trouble with them but it's still quite possible. Some extensions /startups can mess with things and wreak havoc.
