Its a shitty situation to be in, for both parties.

Given the information persented I believe that the MoD did the appropriate thing. A majority of this "problem" stems from the parents lack of understanding reguarding the legal implications of what the MoD can or can not say in a scenario like this. I suspect that the reason why the family is not persueing legal action is due, inpart, to the revelation that nothing was done illegally.

My kudos to Mr Dierck for being a "Difference Maker".
