The Penguins are so bad that I think it'll take more than one young Canadian player to save their asses.

Hockey would probably be more popular there if the American play-by-play folks didn't seem to dis-interested, and slow to call the game. I can't stand them, it puts me to sleep.

On the sports ticker this evening: Brett Hull retires, effective immediately. He's a lock for the NHL Hall of Fame the first year he is eligible. But with the loss of last season, he stays stuck at #3 on the all time scoring list behind Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky.

See that Daryl, two of the three all time goal scorers in the league are former REDWINGS! Then Buffalos number one Goalie had to move to Detroit to win a CUP! I guess we'll just stay here and enjoy HOCKEYTOWN! [Big Grin]

What's that? You said the top three goal scorers of all time were Canadian?

You mentioned goalies. Were you thinking of three of the top four all-time NHL win leaders, all who played for Toronto? All four of which were Canadian.

When Detriot decides that "hockey is the passion that unites us all" and that it's "far more important than air", I'll take you're last comment seriously.

I see my rebuttal caused you to stumble on your words. I'd say a team, made of a majority of Canadians, wins nearly every year. Of course I suppose it'd be difficult for a whopping 93 or so Americans to take on the entire league. [Smile]

lol [beer] yes it would be hard for 93 americans to take on the entire league. Well I'm laying this debate to rest, because its not going to go anywhere but back and forth. But I would say that the Russians and the Sweds are right up there with the Canadians...maybe not as many but, more then american I would think.

And yes your well put response made me fumble my words [Roll Eyes] [Big Grin]

Shitty team and shitty arena yes. Many will tell the best ice to skate on in the NHL is, however, Pittsburgh's.

Yeah, the Mellon Arena is among the dwindling few who don't have their ice covered 75% of the time to accommodate that bullshit game known as basketball. Covering good ice makes bad ice.
