"It was hard not to notice. I was kind of already through security, and I just turned around and saw it," he said. "It didn't seem like anyone else was paying much attention to it. I thought it was the best thing I'd ever seen in an airport."

Maringouin was visiting Oklahoma to interview a prison inmate for an upcoming movie of his when 52-year-old Tammy Banovac caught his eye.

She was the woman in only a bra and underwear sitting in a wheelchair, petting her dog in airport security.

He immediately got out his camera and started rolling.

"How can anyone possibly shrug this off," he said. "The atmosphere of the TSA and cameras in airports and I just said, 'Screw all that,' and I'm going to film this. People were in a state of somewhat disbelief and I'm not sure if people were just trying to be polite, but there wasn't a lot of hoopla about it."

However, it's getting a lot of hoopla on YouTube where Maringouin posted it.

He says his new internet sensation gets about 5,000 hits per hour since it has been posted.

"I thought what she did was great, protest or not. Even if it was performance art, I thought it was probably the best performance art I've seen in a long time," he said. "She could have just been incredibly poised. Maybe she's a meditator."

At last check, the video has had thousands of views online.

As for the woman, she was back at Will Rogers Airport Wednesday morning, again in only her bra and panties.

This time she did go through the proper security screenings and did make her flight.
