The longer a projector goes uncleaned between shows, the more dirt will spread & the value of their "moviegoing experience" (besides the equipment they're gunking up) will greatly degrade. Guys like this one are why I'm opposed the booth having any extra luxuries, regardless of configuration. These types only look at the place as a job & they try to find every way to make the job cater to their laziness. So you say you'll never catch a film problem until it's happened? to that! Put minimal effort into attempting to notice details within the place that is kind enough to pay your ass to "watch over" the hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment they've put into the people they're trying to keep as customers & see what it gets you. I guess when you're not clever enough to fix a two-minute wrap, then you've got no use trying to identify an hour-long wrap. Some people have the heart to see you're working with art, people's visions & your patrons' paid experiences. The people who take pride & happiness out of doing the whole job for their patrons are what ensures you never talk about the theater "closing its doors forever" A presentation minded theater is much less likely to even joke about such a thing happening. As a person who's come into a recklessly "patrolled" megaplex booth before, I can say my pride was only magnified in knowing that we turned around so many peoples' experiences there that we heard from them daily on how nice the experience was. Good management & respect for your artform. At least you have a job where you're ideally working with real art every day. Send that guy to a gas station.
