Author Topic: Telluride 2006 Film Festival Pics Bill Enos Film God Posts: 2081 From: Richmond, Virginia, USA Registered: Apr 2000 posted 05-21-2007 07:44 PM                     I'll agree with Scott on this one, the festivals are the most interesting things I do, from dealing with nutcase directors, amateurs, to running ancient prints on a prayer that they will make it. Had a guy show up with 3 reels of clear film and 3 reels of the feature once, he was just a little pissed, I think the lab screwed up.  |  IP: Logged Joe Redifer You need a beating today Posts: 12859 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: May 99 posted 05-22-2007 12:14 AM                        The Minnie (it's called La Pew now or something) is where I wanted to work when I did the Telluride Film Festival because the booth was more roomy than the Nugget and they had Century projectors versus the much-hated Brenkerts. Ian let me thread a reel and it was like a breath of fresh air after a couple days at the Nugget. That guy with the hat I think worked with me at the Nugget. He talked to me about headaches and how aspirin only numbs the pain, not gets rid of it. Somehow I had already obtained that elusive knowledge earlier in my life. He also had his dog with him 24/7. Isn't there usually a decent number of women gravitating to these events? Ian might have something different to say about it, though. When I first came to the Telluride Film Festival 17-years-ago, Jim Bedford had the reputation of having slept with every female manager and a few of the male ones. But at that point he had been married to Luci for a few years so that reputation has subsided just a bit. Some of my fellow festival workers seem to hook up every festival, although how I don't know. The festival schedule seems to be: rise at 7:00 AM, go get a large coffee. Go to your venue around 8:00 AM and prepare for the 9:00 AM show. Show movies throughout the day till midnight. Then find a party, it's not hard, there's one every night. Get drunk, hook up, go home and get laid. If you are a gentleman, service your guest till 3 or 4 AM, then have a cat nap. Get up at 7:00 AM, repeat till dead or the festival is over. Thank God, it's only 4-days long. Sometimes not hooking up is a great way to catch up on sleep. That said, every time I come to Telluride, I fall just a little bit in love. Right now I am in Telluride for Mountainfilm. This weekend, my favorite name is Emily, twice. But my girlfriend shows up on Friday, so I must behave. Telluride stimulates the mind and body.  |  IP: Logged Paul Mayer Oh get out of it Melvin, before it pulls you under!
