Excellent job Jhawk! Sorry I was somewhere in Wyoming... the land of the DP-70... when the e-mail was sent so I shall post something of my own here in the next day or two.

You did a great job on the collage, JHawk. It looks great. Also, I'm glad that John Pytlak received it.

Plus, I must say Thanks to Brad Miller for doing such a great thing for John.

Sorry I was traveling up in Boston when Brad and Jhawk's fine tribute-to-John poster project was being assembled, and I missed contributing to it.

I'm glad John is home with his family and loved ones around him, and with the expressed appreciation of so many he has helped and influenced over the years.

I posted this in the 'recovering' thread, but I am going to repost it here, as it seems a bit more appropriate. Plus, I have an addendum as well...

quote:
John,

I am sorry that I was unable to be part of the project. I was unfortunately detained for the last little while.

Not to deminish anything that you are going through, but my son is recovering from surgery to remove a tumor from his right leg. He is recovering well from the surgery and responding well to treatment. I am back home in Utah and can finally catch up on the world.

When I read that you were doing not as well as we would all like, I knew that I am with everyone here in our prayers that you can get through all of this with dignity, and the knowledge of what you have meant to all of us, and to so many people around the world, not to mention your own family. Your impact on the world of cinema will never be forgotten, and your impact here is just as great.

I have always enjoyed your posts and our own occasional conversations. You are a great american that everyone can be proud of.

With all my gratitude and greatfulness,

Dave Williams.

Ciao

FOLLOW UP....

I got the word today that my son is now cancer free. The tumor did not metastisise and they were able to get all of the damaged tissue out on the first surgery. He was hit hard and fast with his treatments and that has wiped out completely any residual problems.

He is a good, young, strong kid, and is out playing basketball again and loving it. He is still having trouble from the surgery and treatment, but he is recovering well and I couldn't be more pleased.

John,

I truly with there was something I could say or do to make all of this go away. You have been an amazing friend through the years and I wouldn't trade a moment of it for anything. You will always be one of the strongest people I know, and someone I look up to.

Be excellent with each other...

Ciao
