You're mothers first cousin is you're first cousin, once removed. You're grandmother's first cousin is you're first cousin, twice removed. It's overly complicated: LINK Sixth cousin, twice removed means they have the same great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, twice removed means one of them is two generations younger than the other...
