A lot of great music has been suggested by everyone thus far. Here are a couple more that I think are car-themed and/or good songs in their own right.

Queen's "I'm In Love With My Car" (from "A Night At The Opera," 1975)
Rush's "Red Barchetta" (from "Moving Pictures," 1981)
John Fogerty's "Hot Rod Heart" (from "Moon Swamp," 1997)

And...when I think of car crashes and demolition, I think of the instrumental piece used during the mall sequence in "The Blues Brothers" (1980). Unfortunately, I do not think the cue is included on the movie's soundtrack album.

Gotta keep with the demolition theme:

They're Letting Me Drive Again (The Theme From Steelyard Blues), which was a movie about demolition driving

Crawling From The Wreckage - Dave Edmunds (though Graham Parker, who wrote it, may have a version).

Crackin' Up: Nick Lowe. Not really about cars, but it'll work

If you need something a little moodier:

I'm Always Crashing In The Same Car by David Bowie
