As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Just because a system or piece of equipment is the cheapest, or sells the most, in no way makes it the best or proper solution.

It sounds like those guys are doing every bit as much work putting on digital shows as they did with 35mm.

Good work, Jock. The Astor is a national treasure.

The idea that your KDM's are becoming operational 30 minutes before a show is pathetic. Get whomever is doing this to come out and see you sweating on the key to open and see if it works while 1200 people are waiting for the show. Then direct them to how ridiculous that nonsense is by having them Google the movie's title with the word 'torrent' next to it.

Thanks John. Happily for our Friday night screening of the feature with the stupidly-short KDMs we were issued an 8am-to-midnight one. It's a start.
