Author Topic: Vacuum Cleaner Anyone? Kenneth Wuepper Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1026 From: Saginaw, MI, USA Registered: Feb 2002 posted 12-22-2016 08:37 PM                     A long time ago we used a shop type machine for cleaning. The motor and filter as well as the hose connection were in the lid made to fit a drum. You could use either a 55 gallon or 25 gallon empty drum for collecting the dirt. We used an empty 25 gallon drum and inserted 2 counter weights from the rigging to keep it from toppling over in the aisle. 4 casters were attached to the base for mobility. In use, we had a Sears large diameter extension hose that reached the width of one set of seats, about 15 feet. To make the job easier, we inserted a 25 gallon trash bag inside the drum before placing the motor assembly on the top.
