OK this is a long shot, but I am desperate for an experienced
projectionist. I am tired of training people from scratch. If you live in
Colorado and want to work in a cool projection booth, not have to wear
any kind of uniform, not have to worry about working downstairs on the
floor (ever) and want to start out at the highest wage you can start at for
booth in Colorado, please put in your resume to the Mann Chinese 16 in
Aurora Colorado. Ask for Joe. It's a great job and the managers leave
you alone. But experience seems hard to come by. Help!

hey joe--i'm not one of the old-timers or anything, but i've been a film
collector for 11 years and have experience running a DeVry XD 35mm.
how much do apartments rent for in colorado? ha ha ---john

Depends on the apartment. But let's just say you could "just get by".
However, Mann doesn't seem to limit their raises to 2.5% like UA does,
so who knows? It would definitely help to have a roommate, however. I
am not necessarily looking for an old timer, just somebody who knows
about film and projectors, can build up, break down, and thread properly.

I will e-mail you directly on this matter, as I shouldn't be posting wages on
the internet -- it is unlikely, but somebody who works for the company
could see it and get mad (for whatever reason, I do not know).

Damn, I wish the commute wouldn't be so bad from the DC area. Sounds
like a heck of a lot more fun than pushing papers for a living, first as a
paperboy when I was 10 y.o. and now as an "adult", if I can use that term
for a person fixated on collecting movies :-) AND I'd be closer to the
Telluride Film Festival to boot. Actually, I just think of this hobby for me as just a creation of a second
childhood -- with a bigger allowance. Then again, maybe it's just my way
of dealing with a near-midlife crisis....
