Not like this is a real shock to everyone, but those big auditoriums are getting awfully empty and the smaller ones are selling out.12 week contract. Ha!
How many theaters will be pulling at least one of their Star Wars prints out of their big houses next Friday when Austin Powers 2 opens?

I noticed that tonight as well. A Friday night and I saw the audtitorium only half full at its busiest! It's just not a movie that you can see over and over again! I get sick of even walking by the projector! Also, the prints are beginning to shed/flake a little and the whole movie just needs to go away next week. It's been arund for only 3 weeks, so why does it feel like 3 years?

My theater already pulled two of its five prints and put them in the smaller houses. This sudden drop in the number of available seats might explain why the big auditoriums still seemed pretty full last night (Friday). I think there are still a lot of people who want to see it whether they think it'll suck or not.I'm not sick of it yet, perhaps because I selectively watch the best scenes (lightsaber fights, the happy ending, the end credits music, etc.).

Sorry Chris, but I have to agree with Joe on this one. I hate walking past the three projectors showing the film myself. And yes, it does feel like we've screened it for the last three years! Sadly, that damn song from the last scene sticks in my mind all day too. I do think, however, the happy ending is a good part of the movie only because it brings the madness to a conclusion.

Our theatre moved one, with permission of course, to allow for Austin Powers. This may happen more and more now with bigger movies coming out. Tarzan, Big Daddy, Wild Wild West.

Just saw our new schedule on the Internet and my theatre is dropping one print of Star Wars. Wow!

We had pulled a print right when Austin Powers opened! We have four other prints, two of which were moved a while ago to smaller houses. I *am* sick of the movie. I wonder what terms my theater reached with Lucas, because I'm pretty much waiting for the other prints to go.
