I've always liked the Massey high backed chairs. If you need seats, the College Tri Cinemas in Mount Vernon is being dismantled and there is about six different makes and models there. Some of them are very nice. The new owner of the building is going to throw them all away! Probably can get seats for free.

I went to a theater that had Mexican made seats, but cannot remember the name of the manufacturer. I want to say it started with a "M". Anyone familiar with these? They aren't regular back chairs, but aren't highbacks either and they did rock. They were extremely comfortable.

The biggest Mexican seat manufacture is Mobiliario. UA is using them now as are quite a few others. The most comfortable seats I have ever sat in are from a company from Columbia called Series International Seating.

The seats from the College Tri in Mount Vernon all went to the landfill. However, Cinema 5 in Mount Vernon still have some good seats remaining. They are Irwin Rockers and Citations. There is another brand there, but I cannot recall of they are Americans or Haywood Wakefields.I think Ken was speaking of the seats from Cinema 5. The College Tri went down the tubes about 2 years ago.

We sell Seatng Concepts seats as we have had very little trouble with them. They are also a great company to work with and the few problems our customers have had were taken care of by the factory immediately. We sell to schools and live theater as well and Seating Concepts has been very cooperative at supplying custom versions of their seats as well as samples They also have a standard 5 year warranty.

For durability and price...Seating Concepts is the best bet today! I sell many of them too...to theatres, home screening rooms and other venues! They have a deluxe chair that through audience tests actually comes close to the same comfort as the old deluxe Heywood Wakefield rocker! (That's a hard to beat chair!) I've sold Seating Concepts for over 17 years! Small orders / custom orders are never a problem!!!------------------

We are using brand new Seating Concepts chairs at the Chehalis Theater and are VERY HAPPY with them. They are very comfortable!

I agree with Andrew. I like the Premier Seating's Emissary model for a couple of reasons. They are comfortable, not too expensive, and very durable. If I were looking into new theater seats these would probably be what I'd get.
*Although the Premier seats were not the most comfortable I have ever sat in, I don't know the name of the comfy seats. They were in the Showcase Cinemas in Revere, MA before they did the whole theater over. Low backed, really cushy, and they rocked.*
