I just got my first bottle of FilmGuard and I have a theatre trying it out this weekend. I will see the results on Monday!! My only complaint is this....1 bottle is enough for a month supply at an 8 plex. When you order 1 bottle, you only get enough keyed cores for 1 media cleaner, so if you use more than 1 cleaner you cannot easily rewind the media without getting FilmGuard all over you.

How many cleaners you got? I'd have to go through my files to see if you ordered direct or through one of the dealers, but if anyone needs more than the "set" of 3 cores (2 for supply and 1 for rewind) we'll gladly toss them in the box. Unfortnately, most theaters don't have more than one cleaner.Send your shipping address to my private email address and I'll get however many you need out to you Monday. I'll modify the web page to reflect this. I think all the dealers know that policy on the cores, but then again, I may have forgotten to tell one of them. We're still trying to get settled here.

I have a complaint about FilmGuard. FilmGuard makes my films too clean. All film should have at least a little dirt and a few minor scratches so that people know that they are viewing film! Just kidding. I actually had an idiot projectionist who considered himself a "projection history buff" who actually thought like this! What a moron.

Off the topic but on Joe's point, I must comment on the people who think scratches are part of film. Did anyone see the brochure for this year's Telluride Film Festival? Ian sent it to me and I must say that I do not like the idea of a film festival using an image of film with severe scratches on it - or any scratches for that matter. I'm sure the graphic designer thought it made it look more film like but its a terrible image/idea to reinforce. Just my 2 cents. Ky

Sorry about the complaint, its probably my own fault. I just told them that I wanted to try out a bottle. I didnt specify the amount of screens or cleaners because I wasn't sure where I was going to try it out. I just figured that was how it was packaged and if you only order one bottle.......Rick

Yes, I have seen the 26th Telluride Film Festival brochure somewhere before... just can't place where I could have seen it. Oh yeah! I was a projectionist there this year! I can't really comment on it, since they do read this forum, so I won't! Anyway, you already did.
