Christie has just recently acquired a company called Electrohome Projection Systems where they plan to build digital projectors. They have a web page at www.christiedigital.com. I heard about it today and was just researching it. They must have saw the writing on the wall too.

I told the forum about this in my notes from ShoWest. E-home still makes a lousy video projector.

Electrohome also makes video monitors (the G-07 series) for commercial coin operated video arcade games. I used to repair those things---NOTHING BUT TROUBLE---always failing. The flyback transformers were always EXPLODING!!!

Hmmmm... Sounds like Electrohome will be right at home with their new owners.

Electrohome also priced their replacement parts sky high, too. The flyback transformers were priced at $100. each! All the other manufacturers were priced at $25 to $30 each.

Electrohomes have always sucked! I prefer post war TV sets that have round CRT's. Gosh I recently restored an RCA 630TS, the forst TV set you could buy circa 1946, after replacing one multi section electrolytic and a pair of 5U4g's it came back to life....albeit just barely though. Didn't let it run too long till all other caps were replaced....but man thats amazing for something that old.

I just have one question:

Where are they going to put the drive belt?

Don't worry about a drive belt---it's been replaced by underspec, under-rated capacitors along with an exploding flyback to help keep you on your toes.

The Drive belt....Thats easy.....they'll use up tons of shutter belts on the blower!
