Rumor had it that we were supposed to get these cards, if they exist, that self adjust the timing.Do they really exist and are they worth it.

Ahhhhhhh, great idea. I wonder why someone hasn't done this on a large scale yet. It would be very feasible to add a tachometer to the platter itself to control basic timming through a feedback loop, perhaps even count sprocket hole rate and adjust payout and take up tourque that way. I wonder if this has been patented yet?

They exist, but I've never seen them. (Come on out of lurking Bevan and tell us about them!)Personally, I would LOVE to test drive these just to see how well they perform. I'm quite picky on the specific timing of my platters and can run film up to the edge with a little tuck and have no problems. Recently though, I've seen a lot of wandering led levels with the latest AW3s put out that require routine attention.

I certainly don't think (or expect) Christie will come out and talk about them on this forum. But yes, I would loooooove to test one or two of these things. Christie knows what a picky-ass I am, and if it has any flaws to overcome, I would find them.If it is still in beta, I would report only to Christie, but if it was final, then I could talk about them online. Either way, it would be really interesting.
