I have a non-standard projector that I suspect Kelmar or Component Engineering will not make a Reverse Scan LED Conversion Kit specifically for. Since my projector was made in the sixties, I'm hoping that while the projector is not standard, that perhaps the sound head design was. I'm looking for clues as to which Reverse Scan LED Conversion Kit could poosibly fit my projector.Here are the specifics:
1. The projector is an A.V.E. Transportable 35mm projector (made by a Japanese company called Shinko).
2. The slit lens is 0.98 inch in diameter and 2.38 inches in length.
Knowing the dimensions of the slit lens, does that narrow down to possible conversion kit(s) I should be looking at? Thanks.

Can you post a picture of the soundhead area of your projector? Try 2 pictures: one with the exciter lamp cover installed and one with it removed so we can see possible mounting places for a kit.

A reverse scan pickup from a Christie P-35 might fit. I have a complete Christie soundhead sitting in front of me and it measures about 3.25 inches long. You would have to have mounts made for both the pickup assy, and the LED though. This assembley also fits a Norelco AA-2 with alot of modification to the existing optical sound head. Chec your AVE and see if you have enough room.

I'd say that its a little too tight for a reverse LED system. You might contack Ultra Stereo and get them to fax you the specs for the JAX light. 805-549-0161
