I'm getting what looks like a vertical jitter in the picture, most noticeable in bright scenes. The picture does appear to be steady, but has a jittery quality. Does this mean I might have the drive-in shutter some of you warned me about? Also, I've heard that setting up the lamphouse with the barrel shutter can be tricky. I've found nothing in either the projector or lamphouse manual saying how to set this up. I'm running a Motiograph AAA with an ORC 1000 lamphouse.Any helpful tips?

Erich,
Is this a streaking on highlights? If so then you may have the drive in shutter. There could also be a problem with your rectifier causing this or it could be the very problem that Motiograph never could completely get rid of in the AA. I have a friend that used to work there and he told me about something like this happening with the AA. The indoor shutters are no longer available except from another machine. I hvae a customer that has a bunch. I can put you in contact with him if you need one.

Mark,I can adjust out the streaking with the shutter adjustment, so I may be OK with the shutter I have now. I seem to have a bit of leeway with the adjustment before the travel ghosting starts again. The jitter doesn't change in the "center" range of the shutter adjustment.
This might be something I'll have to live with.

2 things you may have too much light (above 18fl or a hotspot causeing the film to move in the trap try adjusting the gate tension
The AA/AAA is a rock stable picture
You need to determin if this is a flicker or a jitter
Also check the intermitent sprocket for hooking
To check for travel ghost thread up some blackfilm with white titles it is easyer to see
If you have a DI shutter the streaks are usually going opposite directions at the top vs the bottom of the picture
Also is the ORC at the correct working distance and does it have the negative lens in the front of it
