I am Currently Useing Ballantyne BW-79 Projectors and Modified Model-6 soundheads in My Garage soon to be Home Movie theater..I am getting A V-4 no arms no base...And I have never messed with any Cinemeccanica Products before...And Probably will need help....In operation and how to set up and what else I will need and were to get it...Also Can I use my Orc 1600's with this unit....I have posted elsewere..with no luck...But I knew I could count on the experts on this forum....Mike

You'll at least need a Cinemeccanica base, they're unique.I don't know if you can get an adapter to make it work with a standard pedestal, but I know you can get them for certain consoles.
The lamp will work with it, if you can get the base.

You'll have to have your local blacksmith hammer out an adaptor to use a standard type arm. The mounting holes are different, but with an adaptor will work. Rumors are that The Kelmar Blacksmith service may have what you are looking for. Other wise I can reccommend a good blacksmith in your area. They normally only charge 60.00 to do all 4 so thats a bargain.
You might consider a short enclosed relay rack to make a base out of. Jeff Striker, a customer of ours back in Indiana(they still have very good blacksmiths there!)did this for a Brenkert and a 1040 sound head he bought from us and reports from the foundry say that its working out fine. Please note that a good blacksmith is always needed for an Italian projector as there are many non standard things needed that can only be hammered out. Just don't go to him for sprockets. They'll never be around.

Actually Xetron used to have an adapter plate for the Simplex LL3 base
THe ORC may not get close enough because the soundhead sticks out the back to focus properly
Also some cinemecanicas use 3 phase motors

This one uses a 3-phase motor...But it came with a sort of Adapter/control box....that somehow converts 115vac to three phase....Everything seems to work like its supposed to...Mike
