Anyone else having them?We're on our second print and the first three minutes of the last reel drops out to "Fail" on the error counter.
These are all brand new readers that have not had any other problems.
I am worried about getting replacements because I might be charged for them. I really don't think that we did anything to this print.
SR seems to sound just fine, but the drop out is there.

I've run "Patriot" in both SR-D and DTS and have had no problems.
"Scary Movie" on the other hand has a bad SR-D track (at least on our print). We've been running it in DTS with no problems, though.

We have not had any problems with our print.
Did you try changing the SR-D reader bulb? It's an easy thing to try, and you can save the bulb if that's not the problem.

Had three prints of Patriot in one complex. One of them had no digital track near the end of reel 6. Recovered fine at the reel change.

Well, we run Christie basement readers, so nothing ever tracks worth a shit.It is interesting to note both "The Patriot" and "Scary Movie" were printed at Joe's favorite lab...Deluxe Hollywood.

I thought Joe had fixed all of the basement readers with some kind of nut contraption.I have two older CAT 699 readers. They seem to work well, if you don't plug the power supplys into the 240 volt socket by mistake.
They smoke good!

Ian-The nut only worked as a temporary fix. But if any readers run at all, then they NEED the nut. They still run at 7-F just like you saw when you were at my theater many times. We can get them to work sometimes, but the readers must be tweaked for EACH AND EVERY PRINT! Our #7 is still our best house, but it is even giving us the 'F-Dance' now. Can't seem to remedy it.
Those Cat 699's were really good readers. I remember them at Greenwood, and then we put a Cat 700 in #8 and it wasn't as good as the 699's. The 701's are also really good.
