Several people had left requests on how to mount an X-L to a Century Sound reproducer in another thread. I have done this several times but it was a long time ago, back in the early 80's. This setup ran extremely well, as the X-L is a smaller drive load on the Century sound head. I will fax this diagram and info to anyone wanting to know how it is done and I will also send a copy to Brad to post here on Film-Tech. Please be aware that you do need to have access to a machine shop (verticle mill) to perform this modification. It also requires a Strong G-6506 roller assy, a P-7614 pulley, and a P-9812 timing belt. The current style heavy motor flywheel is a necessity on the Century sound head, so any older soundheads with the smaller hand wheel need to be upgraded to this heavy flywheel. This will prevent jackrabbit atarting and possible damage to the X-L gear train. These parts are available from Strong International. e-mail me for details untill it is posted here.
