Yet another spoof, I would ask someone's help for:

This (very old) tower, normally runs evvery time it's asked to do so. (Capacity reserve - have no space in booth for taking films out of platter with clamps, that's why the DGB is still there - would need a scanner to explain better - please just believe).
The last two days, though - the take-up sounds like a machine-gun, running very uneven - causing emergency stop on projector. Friction felt is soaking ok - and i've never tried to take the thing apart. Would it be this "weight-controlled" winding system, mentioned in manual or what ?
Any idea - pease inform.
Thanks alot !

If this tower is the model with the motor mounted horizontally driving a poly v-belt,
there is a one-way clutch that depending on
direction will drive the take-up or rewind.
It is about 2and a half inches in diameter by
about 3inches long. the toothed take-up belt
runs around one end. Thos could be the source
of your noise. Also, the weight controlled clutch adjuster could be loose. To check, I
think it's a 2.5mm allen key located on the bottom of the take-up spindle assembly. Lossen the allen key and slide it backware or foward to adjust. Hope this helps.
