Ok, So I finally got around to purchasing a bottle to put to what I consider my ultimate test. I'm in the process of cataloging, organizing, and 'restoring' my family's collection of 8mm Kodachrome home movies. I have HOURS of this stuff, fantastic footage of my heritage dating back into the 40's Kodachrome II color that still astounds to this day. However, they were all run many times over the years through a film-eating Bell & Howell autoload! The plastic loop-formers have chewed base scratches so deep into a lot of the footage that it has become nearly unbearable to screen. Not to mention the dirt particles the sizes of volkswagens on the screen. Tonight, I took a 50 foot reel from the box, put it on my 8mm rewinds and applied a coating of FG. I threaded it into my Bolex 8mm machine and started the reel. I still haven't picked my jaw up off of the floor. the scratches are GONE! the image looks like it came back from the lab yesterday. The colors are more vibrant than I ever remember them. Filmguard is nothing short of ASTOUNDING. and, it can even be used to remove tape splice residue after the splice is peeled apart. these films are filled with hundreds of dirty tape splices that I am replacing with cement hot splices. It makes wiping the bad tape residue off a breeze. FG is going to breathe new life into these irreplacable kodachrome originals. I can't be more thankful than I am for filmguard.

Glad you like it. Nothing quite like "wet" projection to fill in the scratches and boost the colors, eh?

Brad, you got that right! I myself am a recent FilmGuard devotee.No matter how clean you think your prints are folks...until you've run FilmGuard, you ain't seen nothin'!
