i saw on the news this morning that Edwards Cinima Circ. Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection. thats MY employer. when i got to work they informed me that due to some financial re-organization this week's pay-check would be mailed to my house. at first i was nurvous that there might be a chance of losing my job... not that the 5.75 was a big factor but i like my work. oh well, guess i can always go to Pacific Theatres.
(not that i was suprised at the news with the way they run things... we ordered platter LEDs three months ago and they still havent arrived)

It is rare that I get parts quickly from Christie unless it is an emergency. Granted that could be my supplier wanting to save money on a larger order.By the way, I would look for a new job. When you don't get paid on time, that is a bad sign. Since the law is a little picky about people getting paid.

The Edwards thing does not surprise me in the least. I wonder how many theaters they will dump?
Christie charges higher dealer cost to drop ship parts, usuaally 20% higher. They are the only ones in the industry that do so. Parts normally have to go to the dealer first and then out to the end user. This causes delays and sometomes makes Christie customers very unhappy. But they don't seem to care. Most Christie booths I have done work in have a pretty large stock of their own though.

I never see it as a bad sign to have extras of anything. However, with a Christie booth, I would think that the only extras that you would have to have a lot of would be belts. And those you don't have to get from Christie.Having one or two extras of things like LED assys, diodes, or motor cards I would not say that is excessive or alot. It is just minimizing down time.

This just in - Loews Cineplex announces that they will probably default on their loan next month. The bigger they are, the harder they fall... So far, out of the top five, Cinemark and AMC remain the only ones to not file...

Did anyone see the new Box Office where they listed most of the big boys and their debt to equity ratio? AMC was at 14 to 1. Not good. I did notice that Regal was not listed. GCC was the best listed at .5 to 1. Not bad. The last time I saw them listed they were #5. However, I just heard a rumor that they are expecting to lose 15 million this fiscal year. Apparently, some of their investments have not done so well this last quarter.
Brad, I noticed that Box Office did not have you listed for a table at ShoEast. Aren't you going to peddle Film Guard? I realize that trade shows suck if you have to work them, but this is for money.
