To all Film-Tech projectionists and technicians, on Sept. 13 2000, in Columbus Ohio, I will be hosting an overview and training for our DCM (crossover, EQ, booth monitor). I will be out of the office starting Sept. 7th enroute to Columbus, so if you can, please try and let me know by then. Location will be determined by number of attendees responding. I have a question, John. It has nothing to do with the training course though. It has been bugging me forever and I can't seem to find any info at the QSC website. What the heck does QSC stand for anyway?!?!?!?!? I'm dying to to know. Thanks in advance.

John , I would like to attend your training class but unfortunatly its a bit to far. I did however get a chance to install the QSC amps and crossover monitor at Regals Village Park addition at Carmel , Indiana outside of Indianapollis. We also used Klipsch 535's and tri amped with 24 surrounds split to six channels . It sounded great. The program to set up and program the crossover points worked well. I wish all the installs were as easy to hook up .If anyone has the chance to workon this syestem you will see what I mean

It's funny you mention the Regal theatre. I will be in Indianapolis before heading to Columbus. If you happen to be in town, along with any other techs or projectionists, I will gladly set up another overview/training while I'm in Indianapolis. My time there is a little tight, but I can make room on Sat. Sept. 9th. I will also see if I can arrange to have some Klipsch reps attend to answer questions. In any case, if you or anyone would just like to get together and "talk shop," let's do it.Nic,
Gordon was close, Quality Service Corporation is what some people use. Several years ago we had a promotion where we used Quality Service and Commitment. Another saying is Quality Sound Components. But in actuality, QSC stands for QSC. When the company was started over 30 years ago by Pat Quilter, QSC stood for Quilter Sound Company, but today it is just QSC.

Wow, there is more interest in the DCM than I had thought. Thanks everyone.We make several trips a year to various parts of the country, though not related to DCM training. With this much interest, an extra day can be set for DCM overview/training. I will make postings on Film-Tech for future dates. We are thinking of having the next one pre/post ShowEast. How many of you would be interested then?

I stand corrected: It is *not* an abbreviation as I was previously told. According to the founder of the service 'eBay' stands for , well,... 'Electonic Bay[Area]' I guess it doesnt get any simpler than that... Aaron
