Would it be posible to Equalize a theater using a Sound Level meter and a Test CD that plays tones starting from 20hz to 20khz? I know that this might not be the corect way, but has this been done before? How well does it work? It works good on a home stereo, but that is a little different. Is this not a good idea?

The ISO curve is specified against a reference of pink noise which is equal energy per ocatve
a sweep tone is equal energy per frequency

No WAY!Get a hold of an RTA, mikes, and a pink noise generator (*NOT* a pink noise CD or pink noise film loop) and properly equalize the system. Unless you have 'calibrated' ears, its never going to sound right...

Better yet, if you cannot get the proper test gear, you'd be better served by leaving the equalizers flat.First, do no harm.
