According to the Boston Herald General Cinemas Corporation stock has fallen from $35.00 a share to $8.50 a share. The company said that the drop is due to building too many "feature" laden screens too quickly and not having any blockbuster movies. Thats OK my Local GCC 3 screen is now a "Barnes & Noble" after they let the roof collapse, and I went to the GCC Framingham the supposed "Best" theatre around to see Mi:2 and it was out of focus so I asked an usher to tell the booth to fix it and the usher said "Well you see thats because its at the beginning of the reel as it gets to the end of the reel it will fix itself" so I stood there for five minutes starring at the guy and then said "so... you mean you dont use platters?" then the kid with a look in his eyes like a deer caught in head lights said "um... I'll have someone look at it" so I see this whole thing as natural selection GCC isnt the worst but its not the best. if all the big chains go under then maybe the little guy will have a chance to actually sell a quality product.
