Saturday Afternoon (When else!)

I'm in my office doing payroll. (Somebody has to.)

I get up to start a film. Another one drops. I go thread that one up. I want to be ahead of the game.

SNAP! a roller breaks off of the platter (Speco LP270)

'Oh my God! I don't have another roller. It's Saturday, what do I do. If I don't repair it, I lose this auditorium! Uh! Uh! Uh! Uh! Uh!'

I have a tap and die kit but I can't get a grip on the spindle.

I steal another roller from a platter that has too many and away we go.

I still had time to type up this thread. Please excuse me, I need to start a film.

I posted a good fix for this problem back on 6/24/2000 under "Speco LP-270 Fix". If you try this modification to the Speco platters you will not have to deal with broken rods in the future. I posted pictures of the mod. in the post. Good Luck!
