I saw "Meet The Parents" last night. For sure Reel 1 and possibly into Reel 2, there seemed like there had been layer of filth on the internegative. It was like a constant movement of white lint over the picture. It was very annoying to me and took my mind off the motion picture. Anybody else having this problem with these prints?

I saw the same thing up here last night. Second reel was worse than the first, then it went away to be replaced by general darker lint, not bad, but this was only the second showing of the print. No filmguard here! This by the way, was my very first trip to ANY multiplex theatre (not counting mall 3's). Perhaps I'll post my experiences in Film-Yak.------------------

Please keep Film-Yak to non movie discussions.I've spoke to a couple of theaters who called me wondering about their prints of "Meet the Parents" describing the same thing. Both of mine are fine, but apparently there were quite a lot of them struck from this one internegative that is horrible.

I noticed that on our print too. Ours is not that bad. This was the first time I had ever seen this.Very funny movie though!

Sounds like some dirt was picked up on the duplicate negative during printing, causing a flurry of "white dirt". Most labs use on-line cleaners for the negative, but it may take a few passes through the printer to remove the dirt. If the dirt is distracting, ask for a replacement reel.------------------
