The 16mm Fumeo projector we use in our cinema developed a major fault last night during a double bill of (Dr No & The Hunt for Red October). From what we have been able to determine one of the removable circuit boards has failed (the fuse blew) and we lost all drive to the Motors. (Part ID : Fumeo PS 5033). As a result we had to cancel our second film.

The rest of the projector still works, we still have full power to the lamp, excitor bulb etc. Just no drive to the motors. I was wondering if you have ever suffered a similar problem with either of your fumeo's or would know how we would go about resolving it.

We have electrical engineer (another of our projectionists) looking at the circuit to see if any of the components have blown, but apart from that we are a little stuck for ideas.

This probably sounds stupid, but have you tried replacing the fuse? What happens? Does the fuse blow _every_ time you try to run the motor?

Yes the fuse was replaced and blew again, but thanks for the suggestion.

You probably have the electronic controled machine
I just removed the big pcb and rewired the whole machine to regular rocker type switchs and the problem went away The fuse blowing is often that the bridge rectifier in the lowvoltage powersupply has shorted
I believe in the KISS princaple
