On the two I'm using, the focusing knob is loose. You have to turn it about 1/8 until it starts to move the lens holder, and it does the same thing when turning it the other way. It makes it a litte harder to focus it quickly.
How can I tighten it up? I'm sure it's not the knob itself; I've tighten the allen set screw on there. I've seen the exploded diagram (in the parts book,) but I couldn't see what would cause the "slop."
Also, ours has the little lever to move the lens over (for mag or optical image centering.) When you are looking at it from the front, the lever can go to "12:00" position to "3:00" position. Which position is for optical, and which for mag?

Remove the aperture.
Rotate the lens so the image is pushed as far "projected right" as possible (so the analog track shows). That's your magnetic setting.
This particular problem is that it looks like the tech did not put the lever to optical when he filed the aperture plate. Now, you have to look at the screen and adjust it on the fly when changing formats.
