Hey have small question. To control the non sync levels on the CP65 is it the left and right pots on CAT 242 card? It doesn't directly say in the manual but shows it in a picture.

Yup, that's the ones, the trim pots at the top of the card.

Speaking of CP-65 non sync, when I power up my CP-65 it wakes up in non sync and signal is coming through all channels including subwoofer! When you switch into any other format and back to non sync the signal is only through the left and right channels.

Barry brought up a good question. On power-up, my CP65's go to format 04, and must be manually switched to non-sync. Is there a way to change the default format on power-up, as well as setting the default to play in SRD, if SRD is present? Not everyone remembers to push format 10 before walking away.

Jeff, there is a jumper on one of the cards ( not sure which one without looking at the manual ) that allows you to select which format the unit wakes up in.

Barry's right--the manual has the info about setting the power-up format (01, 04, 05, 10, 60) and projector (1 or 2).
I believe that the switching in/out of SR-D is controlled by the DA10/DA20 and not by the CP-65. Hopefully someone else can confirm or deny this.

One is non-sync and one is 2-4 (pro-logic decode). If the jumper is set to 2-4, then whenever you push the front panel non-sync button, it will decode in pro-logic mode. However, when non-sync is pulsed by the automation, it will only do a pro-logic decode if your automation pulse is strapped to the 2-4 terminal on the backplane.
If your automation is pulsing the 2-4 non-sync in the morning, you will get all those channels to light up as you describe. If upon pressing format buttons on the front panel, you only get left, right and a little surround, then your jumper is probably set to standard non-sync... just move the jumper if you like the pro-logic decode
