How sad to read that Lawrence is being withdrawn by Columbia. Does any one know about this? Will there still be 70mm prints available form another source?

I believe the print in Canada is still available

There are a number of prints available but the Egyptian write up says that Columbia is withdrawing it from distribution. I assume that means world wide. Perhaps(hopefully) someone else will assume distribution of it.

There was some info regarding the withdrawl at www.35mmforum.com, under "Dye Transfer/70mm screenings at the Egyptian." Rerelease 2002?

Caught the first screening of Ben Hur last night. The print is from Australia and its a 2.21 extraction from the original 2.76 AR. Nice print! For those in the SoCal area, the print will run again tonight (Fri 12/1).

Did anyone see the screening of Ben-Hur last night? - anyone care to give a review of the print they showed? thanks!

I caught the second screening of Ben-Hur. Overall a nice print, but there were some HORRIBLE timing problems, mostly post-intermission. Some shots were very green, others lacked contrast, and there was even some anamorphic replacement footage during the chariot race. Overall excellent, but now and then...Perhaps Scott Norwood would care to comment on this?
