Everyone make sure to turn your EX units on for these films and if you must pay admittance, to ONLY patronize theaters running these films that have Dolby EX or DTS ES decoders.

On other internet sites there is much talk of the fact that with certain proprietarty systems no EX adapter is needed and in fact sounds better without it.
Should we pay for this line of snake oil

At least the industry indicates, on the tails of the film, what digital formats are available.

Could they not also indicate whether or not they are EX encoded too?

The kids like it, EX is for the housefront and good for BO.
Did anybody ever use the "EX" channel - that's actually the surround from the box intended for overhead or off-stage effects? The rear wall (Center)stabilization is only neccessairy with non truly discrete digital formats and/or bab B chains.
