TThe family and I are taking a trip to orlando this week. We leave friday and are staying 10 days. We plan to visit Universal Studios. Anything or anyone else we should see, do, or talk to?

International Drive...

In the height of the tourist season it looks like Florida's answer to the Las Vegas "Strip"... only without the hookers and gambling.

If you like to see old airplanes, check out the privately operated Weeks "Flights of Fancy" museum which is about 10 miles east of Disney.

Quite a collection of airplanes there.

Certainly check out all the different film projection attractions at Universal and Disney --- everything from 70mm 3D (Terminator 3D), to IMAX to 9-projector Circlevision. The Movico IMAX theatre uses the high-end PSE headsets for their 3D presentations --- I think they are showing "Cyberworld" now. The AMC Pleasure Island multiplex was the sit of the ShowEast screenings, and have one screen using the TI DLP-Cinema digital projector (there are less than 40 in the world). Kodak has quite a bit of new "hands-on" imaging technology on display at their "Imagination" attraction at EPCOT:

If you have ten days, take one of them and hit the Beeline going east to NASA and the Kennedy Space Flight Center. There is an omnimax there, and you can see the REAL control rooms and rockets instead of the tourist stuff. Between the drive, tour, and Omnimax it does take a full day.

Well, he DID say this was a FAMILY trip. I just thought he might not want to see all that "other" stuff.

Besides, It doesn't matter WHERE you go nowadays. If you look hard enough I guarantee you'll find it!

I am glad Josh said a Family Trip, and not the word "Vacation".

You get no rest in Orlando, just too much good stuff to see. If you do the NASA trip, swing back down to Cocoa Beach and do Ron Jon's surf shop. Then in Orlando you may want to do Sea World, lots of animals to see there, Then there is always Disney, fun but costly. Like rollercoasters? Try Busch Gardens. Plan on a day every couple just to catch your breath. And have a great trip!!!
